Melt is a revolutionary app designed to help you meet new people while you’re out and about, whether it’s for dating, making friends, or professional networking.
Melt connects you with people who are at the same location as you. Whether you’re at a bar, a cafe, the library or even the beach, meeting new friends, potential dates, or business contacts has never been easier.
We #melttheice for you, so all you have to do is swipe through profiles of others present at your location, and if you mutually like each other, you can chat and connect in person.
You can download Melt from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) for free.
Melt is currently available in Australia, focusing on public venues and busy locations. We’re expanding fast though, so stay tuned for updates when we launch in new countries.

Absolutely! Melt is designed to accommodate different types of connections within the same venue. You can use it to meet potential romantic partners, make new friends, or network for professional opportunities.
Melt offers a unique approach to meeting people by facilitating connections in person. Unlike other apps, you’ll have a chance to meet in-person and see if you vibe in the moment you match, rather than spending weeks aimlessly chatting and never meeting.
Melt helps you match within the app, so you can #melttheice and meet in-person in the moments you’re out-and-about. You can also join in on our events in your city, check out the event’s page on our website, or our Eventbrite to see when they’re on.

The Glimpse feature shows you a heatmap of venues where other users are going out. It’s a great way to discover popular places to socialise and easily identify the venues with the most potential connections.
Melt only shows users your location when you are at the same place, or if you are already matched and have your settings set to allow matched users to see your location.
The Glimpse feature does not show users information – it is completely anonymous.
Melt automatically displays and checks you into venues where you are located. You can also explore the Glimpse feature to discover popular places in your area.
Our location-based technology aims to provide accurate information about nearby venues. However, slight discrepancies may occur due to various factors – if the app detects you in the wrong venue, you can easily correct it by tapping the venue name, and selecting where you are from the list.
Note, if you are too far away from a venue, you won’t be able to check in – this ensures honesty and increases your chances from meeting people in the moment.
Melt helps you meet new people wherever you go. We do this by detecting where you are and showing you people at the same location as you.
If you don’t want to use location services all the time, consider allowing location services only while you use the app, you can check your phone settings for this.
If you don’t allow location services in your phone settings, we won’t be able to show you other users at the venues you visit.
Yes, your privacy is a priority for us. Melt uses location data only to show you potential matches at the same venue as you. We don’t share your location with other users.
Whether you’re using Melt or not, always prioritise your safety. Choose busy venues to go out to, and let a friend or family member know your plans – better yet, Melt is even more fun when you use it with a group of friends.
Have your phone charged and easily accessible in case you need to make a call, need to head home or reach out for help. Stay aware of your surroundings, and if you’re drinking, do so responsibly.
Yes, always prioritise responsible behaviour when using Melt in venues with alcohol. Be aware of your alcohol consumption, maintain clear communication, and follow our House Rules and User Code of Conduct to ensure a positive experience.
Your matches will be available to chat with as long as you’re both at the same venue, and up to 24 hours after. Feel free to start a chat to #melttheice and organise meeting face-to-face.
Yes, you can unmatch someone by going to their profile, scrolling to the bottom and clicking Unmatch.
We believe in REAL before digital, so we’ve designed the app so you have to make the most of the moment you match to say hi IRL – that way you can see if you vibe in person and kick the talking stage to the curb.
But don’t worry, you have 24 hours to keep chatting with your match after you leave the same venue!
Melt caters to various social needs. You can use it to find new friends, explore potential romantic connections, or expand your professional network for business opportunities.
You’ll receive a notification when you’re matched with another user at the same venue.
Once matched, you can start chatting with your connections within the app’s chat feature. Keep in mind that chatting is only available while you’re both at the same venue, so make the most of the moment and say hi to your matches.
Always wait and see if user has matched you back before approaching them, and be respectful that a match may not want to meet you right now.
If you ever feel uncomfortable while using Melt, trust your instincts. You can end a conversation at any time or choose not to meet someone if you’re unsure. Your safety and comfort are paramount.
Communicate with respect and kindness in all interactions on Melt. If you experience any negative behaviour or feel unsafe, report it immediately. Remember that you’re in control of who you engage with and what conversations you have.
Yes, you can easily edit your profile information by tapping on the person icon in your app, then tapping the pencil icon. You can change your photos, meeting preferences, gender preferences, your bio and your gender.
You set your name and birthday when you first create your account, to reduce fake profiles and dishonesty, you cannot change your name and birthday later.
Melt is a community of users who want to socialise and make new connections, and we believe in doing this safely and respectfully – every Melt user must agree to our House Rules and Code of Conduct before they can use the app, this ensures a safe space for everyone.
Users found to violate this Code of Conduct will be removed from the app.
You can choose whether you want to be visible to other users or temporarily hide your profile, when active you’ll see the green dot next to the person icon, to hide/unhide your profile, tap the person icon and press the dot above the word ‘Active/Inactive’.
You can adjust your preferences in the app’s settings to specify the type of connections you’re seeking, whether you’re looking for dating, friendship or business networking. This way, Melt tailors your matches to your interests.
While we strive for authenticity, it’s important to remember that some users might not provide accurate information. Trust your instincts, and if something seems off, consider unmatching, blocking or reporting that user.
We advise against sharing personal information, such as your home address or financial details, with anyone you meet online. Let’s keep interactions positive, fun and/or flirty until you know you can trust them.
Want to delete your Melt account permanently? Simply navigate to the Profile tab in the app, tap Help Centre, then tap Delete Account, then tap the Delete my Account button. Warning: this will permanently delete your account and all of your matches, it can’t be undone.
Melt prioritises your safety. We provide an in-app emergency call button and easy reporting for inappropriate behaviour. We also ensure you are only shown to other users who are at the same venue as you, and the Glimpse feature only displays an anonymous number of users per location.
Melt is designed to help you meet new people in everyday situations, so remember if you wouldn’t do something normally, don’t do it on the app, ie. be aware of your surroundings, stay with your friends, don’t overindulge with alcohol, don’t trust strangers with personal information/belongings, definitely don’t leave your drink unattended.
Yes, we absolutely encourage you to report any users that are catfishing, or misrepresenting themselves in the Melt app. We are a community of genuine people who want to socialise and expand our social circles – there is no place for fake people on the Melt platform.
We encourage you to first report inappropriate behaviour to venue staff, they will be able to give you immediate assistance.
You can then easily report a user by navigating to their profile and tapping the ‘Red flag’ button. We take user safety seriously and will take appropriate action.
In the event of an emergency where you need police, fire or ambulances services, you can tap the HELP button in the top left of your screen. This is used for genuine emergencies only, misuse of the emergency call button is against our guidelines.
If you feel unsafe on the app, hide your profile and head to a safe place with friends or where there are lots of other people around, alternately, consider heading home via safe public transport, taxi or a rideshare service.
Consider reporting incidents with other users that made you feel unsafe in our help centre in the app.
While Melt promotes safe interactions, we cannot control users’ behaviour off the app. If your Match suggests excessive drinking or encourages behaviour that makes you uncomfortable, trust your instincts and prioritise your well-being.
If your Match becomes overly intoxicated, your safety remains the priority. If you’re concerned about their wellbeing or behaviour, it’s okay to disengage with them. Report their behaviour to venue staff if necessary.
Choose venues and activities that align with your comfort level.
Melt aims to be accurate when detecting your location, however we might get it wrong sometimes, you can correct this by tapping the location name and selecting the correct location from the list.
